TC Electronic V550 Preamp

The TC Electronic V550 Preamp is a two-channel preamplifier in a pedal effect format that faithfully captures the sound of the famous 5150 high-gain tube amp. It features two channels Green (Crunch) and Red (Lead/High Gain) that reliably cover the spectrum of rock and metal music sounds, a three-band EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble) complemented by Presence and Resonance controls plus an output signal level control. Channel settings are automatically saved when switched.
A separate booster section allows you to set whether the booster will be through the preamp (adding more distortion) or after it (pure volume boost). The signal can be sent from the preamp in three ways - through the standard output to the rear amp, directly into the mix or through the PA DI output with Cab Simulation (Celestion 4x12 G12M Heritage) and finally to headphones when you need to get some uninterrupted exercise in the evening.
Pressing both footswitches changes the mod (Dual Channel) to Bypass Mode, where the Channel switch works as an on/off pedal for the currently selected channel. The USB is only used for firmware updates. The V550 Preamp is wired as a buffered bypass. A 9V adapter is required to power it.
