The Hall of Fame 2 pedal effect offers everything the previous models did, plus new features. Using MASH technology, which is activated by holding down the footswitch, it combines the functions of a reverb and expression pedal. This technology is touch sensitive, so the more you push the switch, the more pronounced the effect becomes. When you lift your foot, the MASH function is automatically in bypass mode.
At the request of many guitarists, Shimmer has been added to the range of effect types. Conversely, you won't find Tile, Gate or Amb reverbs on the display, but you can still load them into one of the TonePrint slots using the TonePrint app. In addition, there are seven other reverb types and three TonePrint slots into which you can use the TonePrint app to load your own versions of the reverb effect or any of the presets that famous musicians have created for TC Electronics.
There are four controls for setting the sound. Decay adjusts the length of the reverb decay, Tone their equalization, and Level their volume relative to the original signal. The last element, leaving aside the PreDelay switch, is a toggle between eleven sound modes.
Like most TC Electronics effects, this one is housed in a durable metal chassis. In particular, musicians with lots of pedals using long instrument cables will welcome the ability to change the circuitry from True Bypass to Buffered Bypass.
TonePrint technology allows you to download from your smartphone, or from a PC via USB, any of the sound presets created by Bumblefoot, Doug Aldrich, Guthrie Govan, Munky, John Petrucci, Orianthi, Paul Gilbert, Steve Morse, Troy Van Leeuwen and others. And you don't need a wifi connection/adapter, Bluetooth or any special instrument cable. Simply connect your guitar to the effects pedal, select the desired soundtrack from the TonePrint app's sound database, enter the instruction, and bring your smartphone as close to the guitar's pickups as possible.
