Taylor PS14ce 2021

PS14ce is Taylor's flagship product in the Presentation series. In this case, it is a particularly exceptional piece made from premium materials and featuring patented V-Class ribbing.

The guitar's soundboard is made of solid Sinker Redwood, whose properties the manufacturer exaggeratedly compares to cedar on steroids. It is a wood cut from logs sunk during the Northern California floatation, i.e. the logs were underwater for sometimes more than a hundred years, giving it its impressive grain and unique properties. The Sinker Redwood is complemented on the back and sides by exclusive Honduran rosewood with equally impressive wood grain and great sonic properties. The back is a 4-piece Simmons wedge with mirrored (bookmatched) middle pieces.

Playing enjoyment is maximized by the beveled ebony armrest, shaped lower body cutaway, and patented V-Class ribbing, which improves the guitar's performance in three aspects - increasing the instrument's volume, extending sustain, and improving intonation. Glued to the mahogany neck is an ebony fingerboard embellished with mother-of-pearl inlays in a vine leaf design (Shell, Mother-of-Pearl). The stability of tuning is guaranteed by Gotoh 510 gold-finished mechanisms with a gear ratio of 21:1. The guitar's luxurious appearance is accentuated by decorative elements in the form of ebony perimeter binding on the body, fingerboard and headstock, complemented by mother-of-pearl inlays, mother-of-pearl rosettes (Paua, Shell), mother-of-pearl inlays on the headstock, rosewood veneer on the headstock, mother-of-pearl Taylor company logo (Mother of Pearl) and Shaded Edgeburst finish on the back and sides.

The guitar is fitted with high quality company electronics. The Taylor Expression System 2 uses three specially designed independent piezo pickups located behind the fingerboard. Unlike conventional pickups, they do not sense the up and down movement of the board, but the natural back and forth vibration of the fingerboard. This makes the sound much more natural, colourful and pleasing, and more responsive to the dynamics of your playing. At the same time, the new preamp makes the signal 25% stronger. Of course, feedback is eliminated and you can adjust the volume, bass and treble.
