The Taylor GT K21e electroacoustic guitar extends the Taylor line of instruments in the new GT (Grand Theater) body design, which is, in simpler terms, a smaller version of the Grand Orchestra/Jumbo guitars. In this case, it is a luxury instrument made in El Cajun, California.
The body of the guitar is made entirely from solid Hawaiian koa, whose distinctive grain is accentuated by a high gloss lacquer finish and Shaded Edgeburst color scheme. The acoustic qualities of the guitar are raised to a higher level by the new asymmetrical C-Class ribbing (modified V-Class optimized for this body shape).
The mahogany neck, attached to the body at the fourteenth fret, is joined by an ebony fingerboard embellished with a distinctive maple inlay in the Spring Vine design. Precise tuning is guaranteed by the anchoring of the strings over the TusQ zero fret in Gotoh Mini 510 mechanics with a 21:1 gear ratio. The impressive look of the instrument is accentuated by a maple rosette, maple body binding with black and koa lines, gold hardware and ebony veneer on the headstock decorated with a Spring Vine patterning and maple company logo.
The guitar is fitted with high quality company electronics. The Taylor Expression System 2 uses three specially designed independent piezo pickups located behind the fingerboard. Unlike conventional pickups, they do not sense the up and down movement of the board, but the natural back and forth vibration of the fingerboard. This makes the sound much more natural, colourful and pleasing, and more responsive to the dynamics of your playing. At the same time, the new preamp makes the signal 25% stronger. Of course, feedback is eliminated and you can adjust the volume, bass and treble.
The instrument comes in a soft case (Aerocase).
