Description of product

The Taylor GT 811e is one of the first instruments in Taylor's standard line to feature the new GT (Grand Theater) body design, which is, simply put, a smaller version of the Grand Orchestra/Jumbo guitars. In this case, it's the top-of-the-line instrument from the 800 series manufactured in El Cajun, California.

The guitar's front plate is made of solid Sitka spruce, while the back and sides are also made of solid Indian rosewood, which also enriches the instrument visually thanks to the nice contrasting wood grain. The acoustic qualities of the guitar are raised to a higher level by the thin gloss lacquer body (Gloss 4.5) and the new asymmetrical C-Class ribbing (modified V-Class optimized for this body shape).

The mahogany neck, attached to the body at the fourteenth fret, is joined by an ebony fingerboard embellished with decorative mother-of-pearl position markers. The impressive look of the instrument is accentuated by a mother-of-pearl rosette (Abalone), maple body binding complemented by black lines, company tuning machines (Taylor Nickel Mini), rosewood veneer on the headstock adorned with mother-of-pearl company logo and a practical rosewood pickguard.

The guitar is equipped with high-quality company electronics. The Taylor Expression System 2 uses three specially designed independent piezo pickups located behind the fingerboard. Unlike conventional pickups, they do not sense the up and down movement of the board, but the natural back and forth vibration of the fingerboard. This makes the sound much more natural, colourful and pleasing, and more responsive to the dynamics of your playing. At the same time, the new preamp makes the signal 25% stronger. Of course, feedback is eliminated and you can adjust the volume, bass and treble.

The instrument comes in a soft case (Aerocase).
