The GS Mini-e Bass electroacoustic bass is compact, lightweight, easy to carry, very easy to play, and once you try it, it's hard to let go of your hands. The smaller Grand Symphony-shaped body makes for a larger and more pronounced sound pressure. The top is solid Sitka spruce, the sides and back are sapele. The neck consists of tropical mahogany, which features an ebony fingerboard with 20 frets and a zero fret made of the proven NuBone resonant material. A compensated Micarta saddle is set into the headstock, and a patented two-prong polycarbonate peg design provides greater string attachment stability. Especially for this bass, D'Addario made strings with a nylon core wrapped with phosphor-bronze wire. The result is strings with a pleasant feel to the touch and producing a bright, warm tone.
The electronics consist of a piezo pickup, complemented by an ES-B preamp with tuner and volume and tone controls.
