Taylor Builder's Edition 324ce

The Taylor 324ce is an electroacoustic guitar from the Builder's Edition series, which brings together top-of-the-line guitars made in El Cajon, California, with many luxurious design features including patented V-Class ribbing. This is a Grand Auditorium, a totally versatile instrument suitable for both pick and fingerstyle playing.

The guitar's soundboard is made of solid mahogany. An interesting and specific feature of this instrument is the ash used for the back and sides. This is wood from urban ash trees destined to be cut down for various reasons, which instead of being burned in a stove found its way into the body of this beautiful instrument. The acoustic properties of the guitar are raised to a higher level by the patented V-Class ribbing - it increases the volume of the instrument, extends the sustain and improves intonation.

The mahogany neck is glued to an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty frets. A subtle contoured lower body cutout provides easy fingerboard control even at the highest fretboard positions without the need to change the position of the left hand. The stability of tuning is guaranteed by the attachment of strings via the TusQ zero fret in the ebony headstock and the renowned Gotoh mechanics with a 21:1 gear ratio. Other styling features include a Tobacco Kona Burst body finish, contoured shoulder rest, rounded fingerboard edges, imitation mother-of-pearl rosette, new headstock design with rounded edges and ebony pegs, gold-finished hardware, and the company's imitation mother-of-pearl logo on the headstock.

This is a completely unique way of capturing sound that takes the possibilities of realistic sound reproduction to unprecedented dimensions. Three specially designed independent piezoelectric pickups located behind the headstock are used for pickups. Unlike conventional pickups, they do not sense the up and down movement of the board, but the natural back and forth vibration of the grasshopper seat. This makes the sound much more natural, colourful, pleasing and responsive to the dynamics of the playing. The new preamp also makes the signal 25% stronger. Of course, feedback is eliminated and the volume, bass and treble can be adjusted.
