The American Dream line represents the most affordable all-massive Taylor acoustic guitars made in the USA. They represent the imaginary divide between the 200 DLX and 300 series.
The body of the Grand Concert AD22e is made of solid mahogany front and solid sapele back and sides, a wood closely related to mahogany (which is why it is often referred to as sapele mahogany). The texture of the woods is accentuated by the stained Urban Sienna finish and ultra-thin matte lacquer. The patented V-Class ribbing improves the guitar's performance in three aspects - increasing the instrument's volume, extending sustain and improving intonation.
The mahogany neck is glued to a eucalyptus fingerboard. The same material is also used for the headstock and the headplate. Playing comfort is guaranteed by the 632 mm gauge, orientation on the fingerboard surface is facilitated by positioning dots made of imitation mother-of-pearl. The strings are mounted in the company's nickel mechanics. Nice workmanship is emphasized by a simple rosette, black top and pickguard made of imitation tortoiseshell.
The guitar is equipped with high-quality company electronics. Taylor Expression System 2 uses three specially designed independent piezo pickups located behind the fingerboard. Unlike conventional pickups, they do not sense the up and down movement of the board, but the natural back and forth vibration of the fingerboard. This makes the sound much more natural, colourful and pleasing, and more responsive to the dynamics of your playing. At the same time, the new preamp makes the signal 25% stronger. Of course, feedback is eliminated and you can adjust the volume, bass and treble.
The instrument comes in a soft case (Aerocase).
