Taylor 814ce

The Taylor 814ce is an electro-acoustic guitar from one of the top of the line 800 model series of the American brand Taylor, which represents the top of the line all-massive instruments manufactured in El Cajon, California. It is a Grand Auditorium, i.e. a totally versatile instrument suitable for playing with both pick and finger technique.

The front of the guitar is made of Sitka spruce, while the back and sides are made of Indian rosewood. This classic combination of premium materials gives the guitar a balanced balance of warmth and clarity, i.e. beautifully sparkling highs and full bass. The patented V-Class ribbing improves the guitar's performance in three aspects - increasing the instrument's volume, extending sustain and improving intonation.

A Cameroon ebony fingerboard with 20 frets is glued to the mahogany neck. A subtle rounded lower body cutout makes it easier to play at higher fretboard positions, while an ergonomic shoulder rest (a feature newly adopted from the Deluxe series) provides optimal playing comfort. Tuning stability is guaranteed by the attachment of the strings via the Black TusQ zero fret in the ebony fingerboard and the company's Smoked Nickel mechanics. Other styling features include a maple binding complemented by a rosewood fretboard, a rosette composed of pearl (Abalone) and rosewood rings, a rosewood pickguard, decorative mother-of-pearl position markers, ebony pegs in the fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dots, and an ebony veneer headstock adorned with a mother-of-pearl Taylor logo.

This is a completely unique way of capturing sound that pushes the possibilities of realistic sound reproduction to unprecedented dimensions. Three specially designed independent piezoelectric pickups located behind the fingerboard are used for pickups. Unlike conventional pickups, they do not sense the up and down movement of the board, but the natural back and forth vibration of the grasshopper seat. This makes the sound much more natural, colourful, pleasing and responsive to the dynamics of the playing. The new preamp also makes the signal 25% stronger. Of course, feedback is eliminated and the volume, bass and treble can be adjusted.
