Here, it is specifically a Grand Auditorium electroacoustic guitar, an original Taylor design introduced to the public in 1994 that combines the qualities of Dreadnought and Grand Orchestra guitars. The guitar's soundboard is made of solid Sitka spruce (Torrefied finish), which has undergone a special heat treatment process. This accelerates the aging of the wood and gives the guitar the character of a more mature instrument. The back and sides are made of solid maple. Adjacent to the mahogany neck is an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty frets, the positions marked by special mother-of-pearl markings. A micarta saddle fretboard sits on the ebony fingerboard. Stability of tuning is guaranteed by high-quality nickel company mechanics. A good visual impression is enhanced by a mother-of-pearl rosette flanked by ebony and ivoroid circles, African ebony binding, Makassar ebony pickguard and the logo on the headstock.

The sound pickup is handled by the Taylor Expression System 2. This is a completely unique pickup method that takes the possibilities of realistic sound reproduction to unprecedented dimensions. Three specially designed independent piezoelectric pickups located behind the fingerboard are used for sensing. Unlike conventional pickups, they don't sense the up and down movement of the board, but the natural back and forth vibration of the grasshopper seat. This makes the sound much more natural, colourful and pleasing, and more responsive to the dynamics of your playing. At the same time, the new preamp makes the signal 25% stronger. Of course, feedback is eliminated and you can adjust the volume, bass and treble.
