Taylor 222ce-K DLX

The Taylor 222ce-K DLX is an electro-acoustic guitar with a more compact Grand Concert body that will please guitarists who prefer to play with finger technique or who like to put the pick away from time to time.

The body of the guitar is made of Hawaiian koa - solid wood front, laminated koa back and sides. The beautiful Hawaiian koa grain is accentuated by the Shaded Edgeburst finish of the body. Glued to the mahogany neck is an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty frets. A fine rounded lower body cutaway (Venetian Cutaway) facilitates the touch at the higher positions of the fingerboard.

Tuning stability is guaranteed by the NuBone string attachment across the zero fret in the ebony headstock and Taylor die-cast mechanics in gold finish. The stylish look of the instrument is accentuated by traditional elements in the form of a black pickguard, black perimeter body binding, imitation mother-of-pearl rosette and ebony veneer on the headstock decorated with the Taylor logo.

This is a completely unique way of capturing sound that pushes the possibilities of realistic sound reproduction to unprecedented dimensions. Three specially designed independent piezoelectric pickups located behind the fingerboard are used for pickups. Unlike conventional pickups, they do not sense the up and down movement of the board, but the natural back and forth vibration of the grasshopper seat. This makes the sound much more natural, colourful, pleasing and responsive to the dynamics of the playing. The new preamp also makes the signal 25% stronger. Of course, feedback is eliminated and the volume, bass and treble can be adjusted.

The guitar comes in a hardshell case.

The American company Taylor is famous for producing acoustic guitars that are very well crafted and offer top sound. The 200 series instruments are manufactured in the Tecate, Mexico factory, but this does not detract from the quality. Tecate is only a few dozen kilometres away from EL Cajon in California, so production is properly controlled.
