The 110ce-S electroacoustic guitar from Taylor offers a large resonant dreadnought body. The front of the guitar is made of solid Sitka spruce, the back and sides of laminated sapele. Glued to the maple neck is an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty frets and positional imitation mother-of-pearl dots. A subtle rounded lower body cutaway (Venetian Cutaway) facilitates touch-up at the higher positions of the fingerboard.
The strings are held in Taylor chrome die-cast mechanics via a micarta saddle and TusQ zero fret. Nice workmanship is accentuated by traditional elements in the form of a rosette composed of three rings, black body binding and a practical black pickguard.
Sound pickup is handled by the Taylor Expression System 2. This is a completely unique pickup method that takes the possibilities of realistic sound reproduction to unprecedented dimensions. Three specially designed independent piezoelectric pickups located behind the fingerboard are used for pickups. Unlike conventional pickups, they don't sense the up and down movement of the board, but the natural back and forth vibration of the grasshopper seat. This makes the sound much more natural, colourful and pleasing, and more responsive to the dynamics of your playing. At the same time, the new preamp makes the signal 25% stronger. Of course, feedback is eliminated and you can adjust the volume, bass and treble.
The instrument comes in a gig bag.
The 100 series instruments are manufactured in the Tecate, Mexico factory, but this does not detract from the quality. Tecate is only a few dozen kilometres away from EL Cajon in California, so production is properly controlled.
