At the heart of the GOLD 5's outstanding performance is an all-new iteration of Tannoy's exclusive Dual Concentric Driver technology. With seven decades of refinement behind it, the Dual Concentric™ driver is a near-perfect point source that preserves tonal character and harmonic structure in a way that no discrete driver system can. The benefits are immediately apparent with flat frequency response, controlled dispersion and a wider sweet-spot in both the horizontal and vertical planes. Sound reproduction is further enhanced by the implementation of the highly innovative Tulip Waveguide point source with symmetrical dispersion, providing a wide soundstage with remarkably focused and accurate stereo imaging.
For appropriate monitor placement, you'll find a switch on the rear for bass limiting, while treble is manipulated by the user directly on the front panel. The perfect touch is then the ability to connect two different main signals (XLR/TRS) and select them via the INPUT knob. Even consumer audio devices (phone) can be mono-connected thanks to the 3.5 mm Jack connector.
