British brand Tanglewood introduces more affordable acoustic guitars in retro and modern designs.
The TWX 5CE K is an electro-acoustic guitar from the Winterleaf Exotic series with a large resonant dreadnought body. The solid mahogany soundboard is adorned with a Hawaiian koa top veneer, while the back and sides are made of laminated koa. The nato neck, referred to as "Eastern Mahogany", is glued to an Eboncore composite fingerboard in an ebony finish with 20 frets. A practical lower body cutout makes it easy to play at the higher positions of the fingerboard.
Sound reinforcement options include the company's TW Premium Plus preamp with four-band EQ, Phase function and integrated tuner. The strings are held in chrome-plated Grover mechanisms and a composite headstock via NuBone zero and saddle frets. The fine workmanship is accentuated by the double-sided mahogany body binding, decorative inlay on the fingerboard and the maple and mahogany ring rosette.
