British brand Tanglewood introduces more affordable acoustic guitars in retro and modern designs.
The TWX 4 CE K is an electroacoustic guitar of the "Super Folk" type, i.e. an instrument with a narrower and shallower body than, for example, the Dreadnought. The solid mahogany soundboard is adorned with a Hawaiian koa top veneer, while the back and sides are made of laminated koa. The nato neck, referred to as "Eastern Mahogany", is glued to a fingerboard made of Eboncore composite material in an ebony finish and fitted with twenty frets. A practical lower body cutout makes it easy to play at the higher positions of the fingerboard.
Sound reinforcement options include the company's TW Premium Plus preamp with four-band EQ, Phase function and integrated tuner. The strings are held in chrome-plated Grover mechanisms and a composite headstock via NuBone zero and saddle frets. The fine workmanship is accentuated by the double-sided mahogany body binding, decorative inlay on the fingerboard and the maple and mahogany ring rosette.
