This unusually designed custom guitar from a Czech manufacturer offers a stylish instrument with a classic sound. Although its body is metal, it weighs just 3.9 kilograms!
The body of this beauty is made of raw brushed titanium, it is a hollow construction with internal bracing. The soundhole is decorated with a stainless steel grille. On the body you will find some custom machined duralumin control knobs, then the same material is used for the fretboard. The fingerboard is made of stainless steel covered with resin.
The neck is connected to the metal body with 4 screws, its construction is classic compared to the body - although it doesn't look like it at first glance, the neck itself is oak (wenge), on the ebony fingerboard you will find 22 frets.
The sound is taken care of by a pair of humbuckers (AlNiCo) from the workshop of Michal Tůma (Tůma Pickups). The controls are traditional - 2 volume and 2 tone controls, plus a pickup switch.
Suligo guitars with the logo of a winged angel are made in the workshop of Jiří Kratochvíl, who has been working with metal since 2005. From the classic locksmith production - steel constructions, furniture and equipment for restaurants, offices and museums - he gradually moved on to passerine and in 2015 to building guitars. He exclusively uses materials such as iron, stainless steel and titanium for their bodies. He has developed his own processes and developed, among other things, a bracing system that achieves the desired tension and deflection of the top depending on the desired sound. He puts so much effort into each product to get it to the maximum possible level. Suligo guitars are not just musical instruments, the metal allows for unusual types of finishes: decorating, polishing or patination by controlled corrosion; they are inherently works of art. They are works by the artist for the artist.
