In a relatively short period of time, Suhr electric guitars from the American brand have gained a considerable reputation among top instrumentalists and all musicians with the highest demands for quality workmanship and sound.

The Pete Thorn Black is the signature electric guitar model of the Canadian guitarist who often refers to himself as a "guitar nerd", but it is primarily his dynamic playing that has earned him collaborations with a wide range of famous musical figures (Don Henley, Chris Cornell, Melissa Etheridge) in the past and present.

The guitar is based on the specifications of the custom Suhr Standard model, which has become a firm part of the artist's sonic shooting gallery in recent years. The guitar's chambered mahogany body is adorned with a maple top and black lacquer. Glued to the mahogany neck with a super comfortable "Even C Slim" profile is a rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Jumbo (.057 "x.110") stainless steel frets.

Two signature Thornbucker humbuckers with Alnico 4 and 5 Special magnets take care of the instrument's sound. Tuning stability, great sustain and fast string changes are guaranteed by the TusQ zero fret string attachment in the company's 18:1 ratio locking gears and Wilkinson WVS130 locking tremolo. The stylish look is accentuated by chrome hardware.

The guitar comes in a hardshell case.

John Suhr has over 35 years of musical instrument manufacturing experience under his belt, during which time he has made a deep mark on the musical community with the top of the line "Pensa-Suhr" (as guitar builder) guitars and basses that have been played by Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, Lou Reed and many others in the 80's, or as a Senior Master Builder in the Fender Custom Shop in the 90's. However, John didn't have complete control over the entire manufacturing process, so in 1997 he decided to start his own Suhr brand. So you can be assured of the highest possible standards of quality when it comes to Suhr guitars, basses, instruments or pedal effects.
