Stuart Spector began his career as an electric bass guitar builder in Brooklyn in 1976. After partnering with Ned Steinberg, the Spector NS-1 bass was introduced in 1977 and gave a facelift to modern basses with its novel design, including a comfortable rounded body. The following model, the NS-2, had already gained the attention of world-renowned professionals and in the following years Spector basses quickly became a must-have for every modern player across all genres.
The Legend Standard Series instruments represent a more affordable alternative based on the original NS model, which remains as relevant and popular as ever nearly forty years later. The extremely comfortable body is made of lightweight ash, which provides great resonance and maximum playing comfort, while the comfortable bolt-on neck is made of maple, topped with Padouk wood. The fingerboard is made of Amara ebony and features 24 frets or a graphite fretboard. The closed tuning machines on the typically shaped headstock decorated with the Spector logo and the solid die-cast fingerboard with 16.8 mm string spacing are in chrome.
Sound pickup is handled by a pair of the company's signature humbuckers, giving you a wide range of sonic possibilities. These are further enhanced by the company's preamp, which also allows you to control treble and bass equalization.
The Legend line of basses has been built in South Korea for over twenty years, and throughout that time the manufacturer has maintained the high standards of the Spector brand. With precision craftsmanship, tone, playability and looks, these basses are on par with instruments even in the higher price ranges.
