Stuart Spector began his career as an electric bass guitar builder in Brooklyn in 1976. After partnering with Ned Steinberg, the Spector NS-1 bass was introduced in 1977 and gave a facelift to modern basses with its novel design, including a comfortable rounded body. The following model, the NS-2, had already gained the attention of world-renowned professionals and in the years that followed, Spector basses quickly became a must-have for every modern player across all genres.
This model is the signature instrument of Cannibal Corpse bassist Alex Webster. Anyone familiar with this formation knows that this instrument is the ultimate metal saw and will deliver a truly predatory sound that will stand out beautifully, especially in a metal mix. The Legend Standard series instruments represent a more affordable alternative based on the original NS model, which remains as relevant and popular as ever after almost forty years. The extremely comfortable body and comfortable through-neck are made of maple. The fingerboard is made of Pau Ferro wood and features 24 frets or a graphite fretboard. The closed tuning machines on the typically shaped headstock decorated with the Spector logo and the massive locking cobbler with 16.8 mm string spacing are in black.
Sound pickup is handled by a pair of EMG-HZ humbuckers, giving you a wide range of sonic possibilities, especially in the area of predatory metal tones. These are augmented by the Spector TonePump Jr preamp, which also lets you control treble and bass equalization.
The Legend line of basses has been built in South Korea for over twenty years, and throughout that time the manufacturer has maintained Spector's high standards. With precision craftsmanship, tone, playability and looks, these basses are on par with instruments even in the higher price ranges.
