The Sigma SDM-SG6 is a special-edition, all-massive dreadnought-type electro-acoustic guitar that will please even players with high demands in terms of build quality, sound and playability. Like many other Sigma instruments, this guitar draws inspiration from famous Gibson designs.
The front of the guitar is made of solid AA quality Adirondack spruce, while the back and sides are made of solid mahogany. The combination of these woods guarantees a clear, resonant, sound balanced across the entire frequency range and great dynamic response. A rosewood fingerboard is glued to the mahogany neck, which is attached to the body with a Dovetail Neck Joint at the fourteenth fret as standard. Orientation on the fingerboard surface is facilitated by position blocks (parallelograms).
The strings are mounted in open nickel Grover mechanisms with imitation ivory pegs and an ebony fingerboard. The zero fret and compensated bone saddle guarantee ideal vibration transmission of the strings. The beautiful workmanship is accentuated by the burnished gloss finish of the body, the Antique Cherry colour finish of the back and sides, the body binding with black and white lines, the pickguard in imitation tortoiseshell and the company logo on the headstock.
The guitar's sound system is provided by an L.R. Baggs EAS-VTC preamp with a subwoofer piezo pickup and Volume and Tone controls subtly placed in the instrument's soundhole. The guitar comes in a handy soft case.
