The Sigma DSME is a semi-massive electro-acoustic guitar in the popular Dreadnought shape, but with a significantly shorter scale (D Shortscale) and "three-note" body depth. This makes it an ideal choice for children and players with smaller fingers. It is a well-made instrument with good playing and sound characteristics, which, thanks to the absence of significant design accessories, i.e. everything that does not affect the sound of the instrument, can be purchased at an affordable price.
The guitar's soundboard is made of solid Sitka spruce, the back and sides of mahogany. This often-used combination gives the guitar a balanced balance of clarity and warmth. The mahogany neck is glued to a micarta composite fingerboard with twenty frets, and orientation around the fingerboard is traditionally facilitated by position markers.
The sound system is handled by a proprietary preamp built into the guitar's back with a volume control, three-band EQ and chromatic tuner. The strings are mounted in the company's chrome Die-Cast tuning machines and in a micarta fingerboard. The zero fret and compensated bone saddle ensure ideal vibration transmission of the strings. The instrument's austere design is enhanced by a pickguard made of imitation tortoiseshell and a logo on the headstock.
