The item has been unpacked from its packaging, otherwise it is brand new, unused.
The Prophet 6 builds on the success of the Sequential Prophet 5 - the synthesizer that made Dave Smith famous. In addition to the great analog sound, you can now enjoy digital effects, a sequencer, arpeggiator and other enhancements.
At the heart of the sound is a pair of VCO oscillators (plus a sub oscillator) for each of the six voices of the polyphony. The waveform and pulse width can be infinitely adjusted, and there's a pair of filters to round out the sound - a four-pole, resonant LP filter inspired by the Prophet 5 original and a two-pole, resonant HP filter. VCO amplifiers complete the analogue circuit.
The dual effects section features high quality reverbs, delays (standard and BBD), chorus and phase shifter. The effects are digital (24 bit/48 kHz), but thanks to Tru Bypass, a fully analog circuit can be maintained.
In the Poly Mod section, the modulation sources are a filter envelope and oscillator 2 with bipolar control. The frequency, shape and pulse width of oscillator 1 or the cutoff of both the LP and HP filters can be modulated. The polyphonic sequencer allows 64 steps with six notes in each step. Both the sequencer and the full-featured arpeggiator can be synchronized with an external MIDI clock.
All Prophet 6 functions can be controlled from the front panel, with 500 factory presets and an additional 500 user-overridable slots available.
The Prophet 6 is available as a semi-weighted keyboard version or as a desktop module with the same features, suitable for smaller studios.
