The Selmer Signature alto and tenor saxophones are an innovation of the well-known 1986 Super Action 80 Series II and Series III model series. In comparison, they offer improved sound quality and ergonomics while drawing inspiration from the latest features of the Supreme models. The saxophones are suitable for players of all skill levels, representing a bridge between the basic Axos series and the top-of-the-line Supreme models.
The Signature Tenor Alto Saxophone, Lacquer offers exceptional flexibility in all registers and a truly impressive powerful sound and projection thanks to the increased diameter of the neck receiver. The saxophone also boasts a new ace/neck bore for improved tuning accuracy, a neck receiver with concentric three-point mounting and a reinforcing ring of pakfong, octave flaps with smoother action and thus less unwanted accompaniment noise, gold-plated thumb rests, mother-of-pearl flaps, leather fingerboards with metal resonators, exclusive Signature engravings and darker Signature lacquer.
The instrument comes in an exclusive Signature case along with a Selmer Concept mouthpiece, ligature and hat, saxophone strap, microfiber and silk cloth, body and neck wipers, and cork lubricant.
The French brand Selmer Paris boasts a tradition of making woodwind instruments and components dating back to 1885. Up to the present day, this has been carried out in the factory in Mantes-la-Ville, France, where a number of skilled craftsmen are involved in the final form of the instruments. Musical instruments with this brand can therefore rightly enjoy popularity among players of symphony orchestras and top soloists.
