Sandberg Basic electric basses are instruments that draw on time-honoured concepts, but combine them with a more modern, unique and progressive twist, and can thus be classified as Modern Basses. Like other Sandberg instruments, these are made in Germany from absolutely first-class materials by a team of highly experienced guitar makers. There is really no need to worry about quality here. This piece is also a Ken Taylor signature model, so you can look forward to some extra goodies.
The body of this bass is made of European ash, the neck is made of Canadian maple. It is bolted on with six screws, which keep it in a completely accurate position. The fingerboard is made of eyelet maple and features 24 frets. The instrument measures 864 millimetres.
The guitar is equipped with two humbucker pickups, specifically a pair of Sandberg PowerHumbuckers. The volume potentiometer, pickup balance, passive tone shield and active three-band equalizer can be used to adjust the sound. But the latter can be removed from the signal path using the push/pull volume control, so the treble control works just like a tone. The humbucker can be switched to single-coil. The headstock is typically solid with separate stones made by Sandberg. On the other side of the bass we find Sandberg tuning machines.
