Sandberg California TT electric basses are instruments based on the time-honoured Jazz Bass design concept. Like other Sandberg instruments, these are made in Germany from premium materials by a team of highly experienced guitar builders. There's really no need to worry about quality here.
The body of this bass is made of proven alder, the neck is turned from Canadian maple. It is bolted down with six screws that keep it in a completely accurate position. The fingerboard is maple and features 22 frets. The gauge of the instrument is 864 millimetres.
The bass is equipped with two single-coil pickups, namely Delano JMVC FE/M2 models. These offer a standard "JB" sound. A volume potentiometer, Balance, passive tone shutter and an active two-band equalizer can be used to adjust the sound. However, the latter can be removed from the signal path using the push/pull Volume control, so the Treble control works just like the Tone control.
The fingerboard is typically solid with separate stones made by Sandberg. On the other side of the guitar we find Sandberg tuning machines.
