RME Babyface Pro FS is an enhanced version of the Babyface Pro audio interface. In addition to the new SteadyClock FS technology for precise synchronization and jitter resistance, improvements have been made to headphone output performance, signal-to-noise ratio on both microphone and line inputs, and latency, which now reaches around 6 samples on both input and output. Babyface Pro is a 24-channel professional audio interface with support for up to 192kHz and USB bus power. It boasts not only precision audio circuitry and drivers, but also a great mechanical design in an aluminum chassis.
Many other improvements have been implemented in the new Babyface Pro FS:
The +19 / +4 dBu switch on the bottom is a quick way to reduce the output level, thus improving SNR (noise figure) for sensitive active monitors, reducing the sound (clicks) when switching the power on / off, preventing distortion / overload. This allows you to keep the faders in TotalMix FX near 0 dB as standard instead of high attenuation.
Other features:
- Total Mix FX - RME's software-controlled DSP hardware mixer. It offers fully flexible mixing/routing with lots of unique features for studio and live applications, including a DSP effects unit. It is available for PC, MAC and iPad.
- 24-channel professional audio interface with 192kHz support
- FPGA chip - an integrated circuit that is fully programmable by the hardware manufacturer, enabling optimal driver stability and latency. The firmware can be updated by the user of the device.
- SteadyClock - RME technology, ensuring maximum sampling accuracy and jitter elimination, thus achieving excellent sound quality and reducing inaccuracies and dropouts during analog-to-digital conversion and vice versa.
- Class Compliant - Babyface Pro FS offers professional RME technology to achieve minimum possible latency on PC/MAC and iPad even without the need to install corporate drivers.
