The RCF SUB 8003-AS MK3 is an active subwoofer with extended BMC low frequency function and internal DSP unit.
The subwoofer's compact cabinet houses a state-of-the-art 18" ceramic magnet transducer with a 4.0" voice coil. The internal amplifier handles up to 2200 watts of power and provides a sound pressure level of up to 135 dB and a frequency range of 35 Hz - 120 Hz. Proprietary Bass Motion Control processing provides extended linearity and remarkable sound integrity. Rear panel controls include presets, crossover frequency and polarity selection, cardioid and output delay settings. The sturdy all-wood cabinet with a scratch-resistant polyurethane finish is stackable and lightweight, ensuring quick assembly and disassembly. A rod drawer on the top and side allows the cabinet to be used in a variety of configurations. The SUB 8003-AS MK3 is engineered specifically for high-demand applications and is the perfect workstation for music professionals.
In the search for an extended bass design with increased output, RCF engineers found a way to remove the high-pass filter and replace it with another solution. Equipped with a new advanced BMC (Bass Motion Control) feature, the speaker handles the lowest audible frequencies without affecting woofer stability, with extended linearity and improved sound integrity. The BMC method works by creating a complete map of the woofer's dynamic behavior and generating a custom algorithm that limits only excessive oscillations. This gives the transducer complete freedom of signal reproduction.
