Paul's Guitar is a model that materializes P. R. Smith's ideas of the ideal electric guitar in terms of design, materials, sound and playability. In the SE series, it is a more affordable instrument that lacks the luxury features of the US-made guitars, but still offers features previously reserved only for the more luxurious and considerably more expensive Private Stock and Core models.
At first glance, the guitar already catches the eye with its solid ergonomically shaped mahogany body with the typical double PRS cutaway, carved maple top and impressive veneer of figured maple. The Shallow Violin carve brings the instrument's playing quality closer to the more expensive American Core Series models. A mahogany neck with Wide Fat profile is glued to a rosewood neck fitted with twenty-two frets and decorated with traditional PRS position markers with bird silhouettes.
Two TCI "S" humbuckers give the guitar a dynamic sound with excellent single note/chord articulation. Its character can be changed via the volume potentiometer, tone shutter and three-position pickup switch. In addition, the humbucker coils can be disconnected using two mini coil-tap switches. So you can turn the full humbucker sound into an authentic single-coil pickup tone in seconds, or combine both sounds.
The strings are anchored by a solid headstock and the company's vintage-style tuning machines. The guitar comes in a gig bag.
