The Paul's Guitar Red Tiger model catches the eye at first glance with its combination of an ergonomically shaped mahogany body with the typical double PRS cutaway and figured maple top. Glued to the one-piece mahogany neck with Pattern profile is a fingerboard made of select Honduran rosewood fitted with twenty-two frets. Decorative position markers ("brushstroke" bird inlays) on the fingerboard facilitate orientation.

Two TCI humbuckers give the guitar a great dynamic sound with excellent articulation of individual notes/chords. Volume potentiometers, tone controls and a three-position pickup switch can be used to adjust the sound. In addition, you can disconnect the humbucker coils with two mini coil-tap switches and turn the full humbucker sound into an authentic single-coil in seconds, or combine both sounds.

Stable tuning is guaranteed by the attachment of the strings via the bone zero fret in the PRS Phase III mechanics and in the strings. The tuning pegs (wing buttons) are lighter than the metal mechanics on older models and allow the instrument to resonate longer.
