The PRS Modern Eagle V is a modern electric guitar in the PRS double-cut design with an H-S-H pickup configuration that you'll appreciate in the studio and on stage. The Modern Eagle V Gray Black's ergonomically shaped mahogany body is adorned with a figured maple top and gloss nitro lacquer. A one-piece mahogany neck with Pattern profile is glued to a rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-two frets. Orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by the trademark PRS position markers in the form of luxurious mother-of-pearl bird silhouettes.

Two TCI humbuckers combined with a single-coil middle pickup give the guitar a great dynamic sound with excellent single note/chord articulation. The guitar's strengths include an unprecedentedly wide sonic arsenal, with the five-position toggle switch complemented by two mini coil-tap switches and a push/pull tone shutter function that activates both humbuckers - the Modern Eagle V offers a total of 16 different pickup combinations ranging from H, H-S, S-H, S and S-S configurations to H-H, H-S-H, , H-S-S, S-S-H and S-S-S.

Stable tuning is guaranteed by Phase III Locking tuning machines with a mechanism that prevents unwanted string movement. The tuning pegs (wing buttons) are lighter than the metal mechanics on older models and allow the instrument to resonate longer. The Gen III tremolo system is also worth mentioning. All the grooves and screw holes are shaped to ensure maximum contact between the individual components, or the optimum string break angle, so that even the most subtle vibrations are transmitted to the body. The stones are fixed against sideways movement, and the exact position of the vibrato lever can be adjusted with a built-in screw.
