The PRS Core series brings together electric guitars made in the USA. These are some of the most sophisticated and elegant instruments you can find on the market today.

The McCarty Red Tiger electric guitar is an instrument with the soul of vintage guitars, traditional PRS body design and great playing characteristics. It features a slightly fuller ergonomically shaped mahogany body with a wider back and a fancy figured maple top. Glued to the mahogany neck with a Pattern profile is a fretted rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-two frets. Orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by the trademark PRS position markers in the form of luxurious mother-of-pearl bird silhouettes.

The two "vintage-voiced" McCarty LT ("low turn") pickups offer the beautifully clean articulate sound of humbuckers with tight mids, and the vintage feel and punch of single-coils (thanks to the push/pull tone shield function). The guitar's sound thus stands out in a wide range of musical genres. Stable tuning is guaranteed by the attachment of the strings via the bone zero fret in the PRS Vintage-style mechanism and PRS stringers. The tuning pegs (wing buttons) are lighter than the metal mechanics on older models and allow the instrument to resonate longer.

The guitar comes in a hardshell case.

The first model of the McCarty series electric guitar was launched in 1994 and Ted McCarty, Gibson's president during the brand's golden era, played a prominent role in its creation, contributing valuable advice and manufacturing finesse as a consultant.
