PRS Hollowbody II Piezo Red Tiger

The Hollowbody II Piezo Red Tiger is a guitar with a resonant body composed of a maple front and back and mahogany sides. The body is covered with glossy nitrolac. A one-piece mahogany neck with Pattern profile is glued to a rosewood fingerboard with twenty-two frets. Orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by the trademark PRS position markers in the form of mother-of-pearl bird silhouettes.

The specific feature of this instrument is the use of both classic magnetic pickups (humbuckers) and a sub-cubic piezo pickup. For this reason, the guitar has two jack outputs for connection to acoustic and electric guitars, or to a mixer.

The two "vintage-inspired" 58/15 LT ("low turn") pickups offer a beautifully clean articulate sound with the warmth of late '50s humbuckers, which can be adjusted with standard volume and tone controls and a three-position pickup switch. LR Baggs' electronics with an underdrive piezo pickup expand the instrument's sound palette to include acoustic guitar tones, which you can choose between with the three-position switch. A potentiometer with Blend function can combine the sound of humbuckers with the piezo pickup and adjust their ratio in the output signal.

Tuning stability and good sustain are guaranteed by the string attachment in the adjustable fixed headstock and PRS Phase III wing buttons, which are lighter than the metal mechanics on older models and allow the instrument to resonate longer.

The guitar comes in a hardshell case.
