The unique Paul Reed Smith EG guitar is the second model after the CE series to receive a bolt-on neck design. Only in production for a few years, the last EG model left the factory in 1995, at the same time that PRS guitar production was moving to Stavensville, USA. Not many of these instruments were made, nor do they appear for sale very often.
The body of the EG (Series I) resembles a stratocaster and was produced in two versions, the EG 3 with three single pickups and the EG 4 with two singles and a humbucker until 1991 when it was replaced by the Series II modification, which is more similar in shape to today's Paul Reed Smith guitars with an embossed top. This means that this particular guitar is a true rarity.
This guitar has an offset alder body to which is bolted a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets and pearl orientation markers. The black lacquered headstock bears the Paul Reed Smith logo and holds 3+3 Shaller tuners, from which the strings lead out the other side to a standard PRS tremolo. The Seymour Duncan single-coil pickups are encased in a black plastic pickguard, which also features traditional Strat controls, 1 common volume and 2 tone controls, not missing the five-position toggle switch.
This guitar may be unobtrusive at first glance, but that's until you hold it in your hand. And it's comfortable to hold. The whole instrument resonates very well and is strong in the lows. The instrument is in perfect condition, small cosmetic scratches commensurate with age not noticeable, it also includes the original case.
Please note: this is of course a used item. Much of its exceptional value lies in its antiquity. These goods are sold in a BAZAAR mode, so no VAT deduction can be claimed on them.
