The Peavey VYPYR X guitar modelers continue the line launched in 2008 and offer an updated design and improved TransTube technology.
The Vypyr X2 is a modeling combo with 60 watts of power. The combo offers simulation of 36 instruments including six acoustic and six bass models, 26 built-in effects, 16 presets, Bluetooth connectivity for streaming music from your multimedia device and editing presets via Bluetooth Vypyr-X editor, USB connector for connecting to your computer/laptop DAW, MIDI over USB and upload firmware updates, a looper requiring Sansara footswitch control (footswitch not included), Tap Tempo function, headphone output (can be used as a recording output) and Aux In input for playing backing tracks. All effects and simulations are accessible from the combo control panel - no pulling through software.
Peavey's TransTube technology, i.e. true analogue distortion, sounds really good, leaving the digital processor in charge of the effects section only and allowing up to five effects to run simultaneously. Emulating real electrons ensures you'll be heard in the mix - unlike many machines with digital distortion.
At the heart of the cabinet is a custom twelve-inch speaker.
