The M-EQ Driver Black Edition pedal effect from Origin Effects' limited edition line is a mid booster and overdrive inspired by the Pultec passive studio EQs of the 1950s, which are heard on thousands of hit records thanks to their musical and versatile EQ curves and overdrive push/pull output. The M-EQ Driver is not a direct replica, but rather a new interpretation of a studio passive EQ optimized for the needs of guitarists.

The M-EQ Driver offers a three-position center frequency switch (0.8, 1.0 and 1.3 KCS) where you select the desired frequency you want to highlight (the Origin Effects brand has retained the original Kilocycles Per Second designation, nowadays the kHz designation is used). This versatile mid boost not only ensures full compatibility with all types of guitars and pickups, but will also give your guitar sound the saturation it needs, from mid-range overdrive to predatory resonant distortion, depending on your control settings. Use the MID and DRIVE controls to set the desired ratio of midrange gain and overdrive.

A new feature is the use of a special circuit (Adaptive circuit) applied to the CUT control that reduces treble suppression and allows a smooth transition between warm overdrive and bright clean tones by adjusting the volume on the guitar or changing the playing dynamics (in the ADAPT Off setting, turning the CUT control to the right progressively suppresses the treble). The M-EQ Driver Black Edition also features a transformer circuit for greater harmonic richness, ultra-high input impedance, push/pull output and a quality buffer (buffered bypass circuit). A 9V adapter is required for power (battery power is not available).
