The DCX BOOST is an overdrive/booster pedal effect from Origin Effects, inspired by the famous Universal Audio 610 mic preamp. With this box, you add a warm analog feel to your guitar sound while gaining complete control over signal level and EQ settings - from subtle gain and subtle parameter adjustments to a saturated sound with a fuzz effect character. If desired, you can also adjust the neutral frequency response.
The EQ and OD modes offer cleaner and more distorted "dirt" sounds, while the Voice switch contains a special circuit (Adaptive circuit) that allows the box's voicing to adapt to the dynamics of pick playing and volume changes. With fully analogue studio-quality circuitry, the DCX BOOST can thus create the perfect "clean boost", simulate studio "direct to console" sounds as well as provide a saturated vintage overdrive.
DCX BOOST is wired as a buffered bypass. A 9V adapter is required for power supply (battery power is not available).
The English brand Origin Effects represents another interesting concept in the field of contemporary handmade pedal effects manufacturers. Unlike many other products, Origin Effects pedal effects do not refer to the past and boutique design, but reflect the needs of contemporary musicians in terms of functionality and durability.
