The item has been unpacked from its packaging, otherwise it is brand new, unused.
The OB-6 is a collaboration between two masters of sound synthesis, Dave Smith and Tom Oberheim. The result is a modern analog synthesizer with classic Oberheim sound, complete with studio-quality effects, arpeggiator and polyphonic sequencer.
The OB-6 sound engine is based on Oberheim's original SEM engine and features six-track polyphony. Each voice features a voltage-controlled oscillator (plus sub oscillator) and infinitely adjustable wave types and pulse width. A two-pole filter with adjustable waveform (LP, Notch, HP, BP) and resonance is available for further shaping the sound. VCA amplifiers complete the analog circuit.
The effects section features high quality reverbs, delays (standard and BBD), chorus, flangers and copies of the original Oberheim Phase shifter and Ring modulator. The effects are digital (24 bit/48 kHz), but thanks to Tru Bypass a fully analogue circuit can be maintained.
The X-Mod section allows you to work with modulation and create unconventional sounds. The modulation sources are a filter envelope and oscillator 2 with bipolar control. The frequency, shape and pulse width of oscillator 1 or the cutoff and filter mode can be modulated. The polyphonic sequencer allows 64 steps with six notes in each step. Both the sequencer and the full-featured arpeggiator can be synchronized with an external MIDI clock.
All OB-6 functions can be controlled from the front panel, with 500 factory presets and an additional 500 user-overridable slots available.
The OB-6 is available in a semi-weighted keyboard version or as a desktop module with the same features, suitable for smaller studios.
