The ACE OF TONE DUAL OVERDRIVE NDO-5 is a 2-in-1 overdrive pedal from NUX's Verdugo Series, offering two separate Mini Core Series overdrive effects - Tubeman MKII and Morning Star - in one chassis.
While the Tube Man MKII pays homage to the legendary green overdrive boxes, it also sets itself apart - while the Tube Screamer uses an operational amplifier (OP-AMP) to achieve a sound with tube distortion character, the NOD-2 Tube Man MKII goes the FET transistor route. The Morning Star is a lo-gain overdrive effect with subtle warm distortion tailored for all bluesmen, but players of other genres will appreciate its services as well. Holding down the footswitch activates the Shine mod/circuit, which offers the possibility of brightening the sound by boosting/enhancing the high frequencies
In addition, the ACE OF TONE DUAL OVERDRIVE offers a 9/18V voltage switch and a switch for true bypass/buffered bypass connection. An Ext Switch connector can be used to connect a two-pin switch (not included) to the pedal to replace the pedal effect switches. A 9V adapter (not included) is required to supply power.
