The fifth generation of the Nord stage piano offers a wide range of polyphony, completely smooth transitions between programs, creative filters for adjusting the sound colour or the ability to set crossfade points for layer and split functions. Of course, there's also a premium three-sensor keyboard and Virtual Hammer Action technology for a completely true-to-life piano performance.

And what other innovations does this stage piano offer? For example, improved sound layering options in both the Piano and Synth sections, advanced KB splitting with optional crossfade, double the memory for the Nord Piano Library, Tru-Vibrato, and Unison mode for rich orchestral sounds.

The keyboard of this Stage piano faithfully simulates the hammer-action mechanics familiar from concert grand pianos. Each key is sensed by three precision sensors, so that its individual movements are recorded with incredible accuracy, making the dynamics of your playing responsive to even the finest details. In addition, Nord Virtual Hammer Action technology allows you to play a note on a single key without lifting your finger completely off the key, muting the reverberating "string". This makes note repetitions very smooth and natural. It is also easy to play at any point on each key - the sound is the same as if you were playing an acoustic piano. The keys are precisely calibrated, with added weight. The impression of playing is very realistic indeed.

The Nord Piano 5 includes 1 GB of memory for sounds from the award-winning Nord Piano Library, with carefully sampled acoustic and electric instrument sounds. The factory settings include 9 types of concert grand pianos, 9 upright pianos, 10 enhanced electric pianos, the popular Clavinet, marimba, vibraphone and many other instruments. Which will greatly expand your sound register whether you are in concert, in the rehearsal room, or in the recording studio.

Piano section
Allows you to adjust string resonance (harmonic resolution of the other strings of the instrument when you press a key), soften the tone when leaving the key (perfect for delicate legato), pedal settings that you can use in the same way as acoustic instruments, including all the finesse and even adjusting the sound characteristic of pressing and releasing the pedal. You can now layer up to two piano sounds on top of each other, giving you an even wider range of sounds than ever before.

Synthesizer section
Offers expanded memory for sounds from the Nord Sample Library, including exclusive Mellotron and Chamberlin sounds. The sound library is constantly updated and access to it is completely free for piano owners - sound swapping is easily done using the Nord Sample Editor app. Attack, Decay and Release parameters can be set using potentiometers. You can also adjust the dynamic parameters of the sound and choose between using the Volume and Sustain pedals. As with the Piano section, you can layer up to two Synth sounds on top of each other. Also new is the Unison function for creatively combining multiple sounds to create a very rich orchestral sound. And the Tru-Vibrato mode adds a natural shimmer to all the instruments in this section, making them sound even more real.

Effects section
The effects section is divided into several groups. The first offers effects like Pan, Tremolo, Wah-Wah and Ring Modulator, the second Phaser, Flanger, Chorus, Vibe with adjustable effect depth. The section itself is dedicated to the Stereo Delay effect with Tap Tempo function and now Ping Pong mode, followed by a three-band EQ, Amplifier Simulation or Compressor, and there's also a separate section for Reverb with Room, Stage, Hall and Chorale modes, which now have a Bright/Dark mode.

A triple Nord pedal is also included.
