Nord Grand 2

The Nord Grand 2 is a digital portable stage piano equipped with the latest generation of Kawai's premium Hammer Action keyboard and Nord's world-renowned sound libraries. It combines the responsive response of an acoustic piano with a touch-friendly user interface to offer a truly unique experience.

CLAVIATURE
The Nord Grand 2 features a new and improved Kawai hammered-key keyboard with a trio of pickups to accurately track the stroke and movement of the hammers while maintaining its ease of use, and as with the original keyboard, provides exceptional control throughout the dynamic range. A new feature is the ability to combine two sound layers (piano and synthesizer), offering greater flexibility in playing and sound creation.

PERFORMANCE
The Nord Grand features dedicated faders with LED indication for each layer, as well as potentiometers and buttons for all the essential functions needed in live playing. Performing the most important tasks such as creating layers and keyboard splits, adding effects or transposing the instrument can thus be done instantly. The dual mechanics of Piano and Synth can be combined in layers or both instruments can be split across the keyboard. Each layer has its own dedicated effects section. A total of 7 keyboard zone split points are indicated via LED indicators, and Split Point Crossfades offer smooth transitions between two split zones. You can choose from 3 different crossfade widths (Small, Large or Off) which are indicated by different coloured LEDs.

PIANO SECTION
The Nord Grand 2 comes with an extensive collection of sounds, upright and electric pianos from the exclusive Nord Piano Library combined with new features such as dynamic compression and unison functions.
State-of-the-art sampling technology captures the extraordinary nuances and true character of the source instruments. The unique "Advanced String Resonance" and "Dynamic Pedal Noise" features bring stunning realism and unsurpassed levels of expressiveness.

SYNTH SECTION
Two independent sample synthesizers with greatly expanded memory and a wealth of new and updated sounds ranging from brass, brass, strings, bass and guitar to classic analog synth lead and bass sounds. Also included is a selection of Symphobia and Swing samples from ProjectSAM. The Sample Synth section offers two fully functional independent layers and features intuitive controls for adjusting attack, decay/release and velocity response dynamics parameters. The Soft and Bright parameters provide a quick way to shape the tone of the sound. The Grand 2 sample synth engine offers several new features: Unison creatively combines multiple sample voices to create a rich, ensemble sound; the "Tru-Vibrato" function accurately models the unique vibrato characteristic of a wide range of wind, brass and string instruments; and the Round Robin function enables natural-sounding fast repeats. Vibrato is controlled by a button, pedal or preset delay setting. The Sample Synth section also features Mono and Legato modes with an adjustable Glide parameter.
