Neumann TLM 67

Condenser Microphone / HN176245
The numbers "47", "67" and "87" in the world of recording studios arouse the enthusiasm of all professionals. Of course, it is no coincidence that the name of the TLM 67 microphone also contains this digit. The TLM 67 is based on the legendary U 67 and includes the same K 67 capsule. Thanks to the newly designed electronic circuitry, the resulting sound is close to that of the U 67 even without circuits using tubes. Similar technology has already been tested in the successful TLM 49 microphone.

The TLM 67 is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone with a classic shape and a unique two-tone finish. The microphone body in pearl grey is combined with a microphone head in traditional matt nickel. The legendary (and often imitated) U 67 microphone shape was developed by Neumann in collaboration with the famous German designer Wilhelm Braun-Feldweg. The shape of the TLM 67 represents the U 67 microphone with modern developments in mind, while the finish timelessly links the past with the future. On the occasion of its 80th anniversary, Neumann commemorates its founder Georg Neumann with a three-dimensional metal plaque placed on the front of the microphone. Neumann's product personality is thus expressed in every detail of this microphone.

The TLM 67 is a microphone with a wide range of applications. In addition to its main role as a vocal microphone for all kinds of music and spoken word, it can also be used as a main or spot microphone for capturing musical instruments. The large wire basket contains a flexible capsule with a double diaphragm. A directional characteristic switch (spherical, cardioid and figure-of-eight) is located directly below the grille. The microphone can operate without distortion with sound pressure up to 105 dB at a dynamic range of 94 dB(A) - figures apply for use without attenuation switched on. A switch on the rear activates the 10 dB attenuation; its main purpose is to prevent possible overdriving of connected equipment. Another switch toggles the frequency of the bass filter - this reduces the noise floor and compensates for the "proximity effect". The flexible suspension of the microphone capsule limits the transmission of touch noises to the microphone input. For more effective suppression, the EA 87 flexible hanger and WS 87 wind protector are supplied as accessories, or the PS 15 and PS 20 pop filters for close-range sensing.
