The MXR Timmy Overdrive from Dunlop is an ultra-compact overdrive effect that fits into any pedalboard thanks to its size. But that doesn't mean it can't do a lot - quite the opposite! It's a great choice for players looking for a compact overdrive effect that adds more brilliance, fullness and drive to their guitar tone while preserving the character of the guitar tone/machine to the maximum.
Respected guitar effects builder/designer Paul Cochrane worked on the pedal's design, enriching the pedal with the ability to set three different clipping modes (effect progression) and designing the EQ controls (Bass, Treble) where both work as a cut (bass, treble) and thus minimally affect the guitar signal. The Bass control is also wired before the distortion (pre-OD), so your guitar sound will have a nice bottom end even with minimal gain settings, the Treble control is wired after the draw (post-OD), simply adjusting the high frequencies of the distorted sound to keep it clear and musical.
The LF353 is used as the operational amplifier, prized by the Dunlop design team for its high output, high gain and hi-fi signal. The box operates in true bypass mode. A 9V adapter is used for power supply, battery power is not available.
