A reverb pedal serves one purpose - it gives your sound a sense of space, whether it's a subtle echo or making you feel like you're playing inside a cathedral.
The MXR Reverb offers six varieties of this widely used effect, in a very compact and extra-low-noise version. The pedal also has an input for an expression pedal, which you can connect to seamlessly switch between two effect presets. For example, you can play phrases with less reverb and highlight their ends with an infinite echo.
The pedal has two True Bypass settings. The first, when the pedal is depressed, turns its circuit off completely and does not affect the signal passing through it in any way. The second setting activates the so-called Buffered Bypass, which lets the reverb tail decay after the effect is turned off, leaving the transition smooth.
When using a TRS cable, the pedal output works in stereo mode. A trio of knobs are used to control the reverb ratio, tone aperture and reverb level.
