The Moog Labyrinth semi-modular analogue synthesizer represents exactly that.
Two generative sequencers bring to life sounds that blossom over time, allowing you to control their evolution and then play them back to each other to create impressive polymetric melodies. With parallel analog signal paths, this unique instrument shines by adding color to the static background of a drum pattern or bass line. With an extensive patch bay, the Labyrinth can be synchronized using an analog clock or MIDI.
The Labyrinth is a fully standalone instrument, but it's equally great at adding depth to your existing Eurorack, and will work great for finding the right sounds in the studio, or playing a live set with it for confidence. If you're one of the lucky owners of other Moog synthesizers, then know that the Labyrith is a super companion to the Matriarch, for example, where you let the Labyrinth improvise while you use the Matriarch keyboard to play. Or combine Labyrinth and Spectravox together for beautiful spectral movement, or combine Labyrinth with Mavis in a 104HP rack for extended modularity. The possibilities are virtually endless.
