The Martin GPC-13E 01 is a semi-massive Grand Performance-type electro-acoustic guitar from the Road Series, offering quality and craftsmanship that matches the brand's tradition and reputation. It is an instrument universally suitable for fingerstyle and pick playing, and you will appreciate its services on every occasion - whether in the comfort of your home or on concert stages. The classic look and sound of Martin-logoed instruments is complemented by modern touches in the form of renewable components, composite materials and Fishman MX-T electronics with a tuner in the soundhole with auto-mute function for silent tuning.
The front of the guitar is made from solid Sitka spruce, while the back and sides are made from layered exotic Ziricote wood. Attached to the Select Hardwood neck, which comes standard at the fourteenth fret, is a 20-fret fingerboard made from a modern Richlite composite material. The good acoustic properties of the guitar are accentuated by the reduced X-type (Scalloped X-Brace) ribbing of the soundboard.
The compensated TUSQ composite saddle on the Richlite headstock provides the strings with excellent resonance and sustain, along with the Corian fretboard. The stylish look of the instrument is accentuated by a mother-of-pearl rosette, white body binding with black and white lines and a pickguard made of imitation tortoiseshell, which also protects the guitar's lacquer from scratches.
The guitar comes in a quality soft shell case, making it instantly ready to be loaded into the trunk of your car/van for long or short trips to pursue your musical dreams.
The American Martin company, founded in 1833, is deservedly one of the biggest and most respected names in stringed instruments. For decades, it has been one of the leading innovators in guitar design and manufacturing technology. However, to use only the past tense would be a great mistake; instruments with the Martin logo are still today among the guarantees of the highest quality in craftsmanship and sound. In addition, their current products use "eco-friendly" components made from renewable resources and composite materials.
