The 15 Series line of American Martin guitars offers all-massive acoustic guitars made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, that you can identify by their solid mahogany bodies with satin finishes, X ribbing, and the attractive look and feel of guitars played over the years.
The Martin D-15E is a dreadnought-style electro-acoustic guitar with a mahogany front and sapele back and sides, a wood related in properties, appearance and botanical characteristics to real mahogany (often referred to as "sapele mahogany"). The standard X-ribbing, which was developed by Martin in 1850 and is still used by most manufacturers today, ensures a full, solid sound.
A catalox fingerboard with 20 frets is glued to the Select Hardwood neck. This wood is commonly used as a replacement for ebony, which it also resembles in colour. The strings are mounted in open nickel tuning machines via a Corian fret and a TusQ saddle fret in a catalox headstock.
The sound system is provided by the company's electronics in the soundhole. The guitar comes in a quality case (Soft Shell Case), making it instantly ready to be loaded into the trunk of your car/van for long or short trips to pursue your musical dreams.
