The 16 Series line of American Martin guitars offers all-massive acoustic guitars that are made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, with the same craftsmanship and care as the more famous and expensive Standard models. Select materials such as Sitka spruce, Indian rosewood or African mahogany and the classic look of Martin guitars guarantee many years of satisfying play on 16 Series instruments.

The front of the 00016 StreetMaster acoustic guitar is made from American Adirondack spruce, while the back and sides are made from East Indian rosewood. The soundboard underwent a torefaction process and other modifications before assembly, which the manufacturer collectively refers to by the acronym VTS (Vintage Tone System). As a result of these processes, the wood takes on the unique sonic characteristics of mature woods that are fifty years old or older in a short period of time. The good acoustic properties of the guitar are accentuated by the reduced X-ribbing (Scalloped X-Brace) of the soundboard.

A rosewood fingerboard with twenty frets is glued to the mahogany neck, attached to the body at the fourteenth fret as standard. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by pearl (Abalone) position markers and yellow dots on the sides. Precise tuning and good sustain are guaranteed by the string attachment over the zero fret and the compensated bone saddle in the open mechanism (Golden Age Relic Nickel) and rosewood fingerboard. The stylish look of the instrument is accentuated by the Distressed Satin body and headstock finish, which gives the guitar the look and feel of instruments played years ago.
