Markbass was one of the first companies to incorporate neodymium magnet speakers into their boxes. Their advantages, besides good sound reproduction, are that they are extremely strong and therefore the magnet can be used significantly lighter than conventional speakers. This brings us to the biggest advantage of Markbass boxes - despite their high power output and great sound projection, they are among the lightest speakers on the market - an undeniable advantage. All boxes also include a bass reflex for the best possible sound, which is placed either on the front or back of the cabinet.

The name of the Traveler series suggests who they are intended for - especially musicians who demand perfect sound, small size and mobility. Specifically, the Traveler 102P is one of the smallest and lightest speakers with a 2x10 configuration on the market. Besides being used alone with an amp, it also fits perfectly with combos or other cabinets (such as the Traveler 151P). Conveniently, it can be used both horizontally and vertically. Of course, the sound is full and solid.

Despite its smaller size, it has a power output of 400 W, which is more than enough, it achieves this power at an impedance of 8 ohms. Two 10-inch neodymium magnet speakers developed by B&C take care of converting the power into sound, and for optimal projection you will also find a piezo tweeter and a bass reflex located on the back of the cabinet.

If you dig deeper into the technical parameters of the unit, you will learn that the crossover frequency between the speaker and tweeter is 3.5 kHz, the speaker can operate in the frequency range from 45 to 18,000 Hz and the sensitivity of the speakers is 101 dB SPL.

In terms of construction, you will find everything here - the cabinet made of poplar plywood has protected corners, the speakers are covered by a metal grille, the surface of the box is carpeted.

The Markbass Traveler 102P is therefore the ideal companion for musicians demanding great sound in a mobile package. There's more to this beast than meets the eye.
