The new Il Cannone strings from Larsen were named after the nickname of the instrument of the famous Paganini, made by Giuseppe Guarneri. Their sound is truly revolutionary. Throughout the development process, Larsen always strives to produce exceptional strings, but it couldn't have been done without testing with practical musicians, including Josef Špaček. Feedback from musicians confirmed that the playability and feel on the fingerboard is excellent and the strings have good bow response.
Sound characteristics: a noble and powerful tone with a biting attack. The sound spectrum is highly coloured with many intricate aliquots. The colour is transparent, the sound is open and brilliant. The response to the bow is also very fast and easy, especially in the spicatto.
They are designed so that the best of each violin always comes out. That's why the individual Il Cannone strings and sets are available in two versions. The Medium variant has a more moderate tension with an open, rich and powerful sound, while the Soloist variant delivers an even fuller tone and even more volume and concreteness.
The Il Cannone E string is made from a unique carbon steel, while the A, D and G strings are built on a new multi-filament synthetic core. The A string is wrapped in precision-rolled aluminum flat wire, while the D and G strings are wrapped in pure silver.
