Laney's LX Series are the right choice for beginner or more advanced players because they offer quality sound wrapped in a package that's affordably priced. While these are the entry-level line of guitars that this British manufacturer offers, there's certainly no reason to worry that they'll be ripped off in any way - you can expect a beautiful clean sound from the LX, as well as a very accomplished heavily distorted sound and anything in between. What these machines are built to do, the Laney LXs do it to a tee.

This particular head is designed to be able to deliver the equivalent of 120W of power into a 4 Ohm load, but as a transistor amplifier it can handle higher impedances.

The control panel here is designed in the opposite way to the LX series combos, so the guitar input is located on the far right. Next to it are the controls for the clean channel, so the Volume, Bass, Mid and Treble potentiometers. Behind this section is a switch for switching to the second, distorted channel. This has Crunch and Volume controls to adjust its level of distortion and volume, and a standard 3-band EQ, so again Bass, Middle and Treble controls

The remaining elements on the front panel are a Line-Out output, an RCA stereo input for connecting devices such as CD or mp3 players, and a footswitch input. On the rear panel, there are just two jacks for connecting boxes and the effect loop input and output jacks.

The Laney LX 120H is a well-built guitar amplifier that, thanks to its features, can handle anything you might ask of it.
